Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Kevin Thompson escaped the cold weather and make his way to Florida in 1982. His disillusionment with the hospitality industry led him to pursuing cosmetology. After receiving his license in 36 years ago, he began work as a nail technician and later got behind the salon chair as a full-speciality cosmetologist. He enjoys showing new stylists a successful path in the world of beauty!
Kevin has had great success with Redken working as a regional performing artist, national performing artist, and sales force educator. “I was fortunate to have been chosen to educate others as a Redken National Artist, where I was introduced to a business program whose philosophy I still adhere to and teach this day. That is to work smarter, not harder, and to understand the business behind the chair. I know and value the powerful change education can have in a person’s life and continue to educate professionals in the fields of cosmetology arts and sciences.”
While working as a educator and platform artist for Nioxin Hair Solutions in 2002, Kevin was fortunate to meet Joyce Parker and Janet West, a mother-daughter team who own and operate TENAJ Salon Institute, three premier salon locations, a beauty product distribution company, and TENAJ® hair care line. He relocated to the The Villages and has been “growing, expanding, and changing lives in this great industry ever since!”
